Maintaining Core Production

The Kazakhmys Group produces around 400,000 tonnes of copper cathode each year, including some production from third party concentrate.  Management are committed to ensuring that core production is maintained at this level in the short term, ahead of the development of our major growth projects.  

Protecting our low cost of production

A major programme is being developed throughout the Group to improve efficiency.  This will ensure stable output and offset pressure from inflation and rising input costs; maintaining our position as one of the lowest cost producers in the industry.

Delivering major growth projects

Kazakhmys is currently running pre feasibility projects at Boschekul and the Aktogay oxide deposits.  From 2012 these projects will substantially increase copper production.

Adding value through diversification in Central Asia

The Group is adding value by diversifying and developing significant natural resource opportunities in Central Asia.
